Bail for Sangam publisher and editor in Babu Rajab Ali case

The district session court Patiala on Tuesday evening granted bail to Sangam Publishers' Ashok Garg and book editor Sukhwinder Singh Swantantar in the case of arrest of two Punjabi publishers and two editors for reproducing old books of poet Babu Rajab Ali which allegedly contained some then used caste names.
However the bail petition of the other two including Tarakbharti publisher Amit Mittar and book editor Jagjeet Singh Sahoke is scheduled for September 29 in Barnala session court. Significantly, Punjab policed and the government received severe criticism from scholars, academicians, writers and artistes for booking four under SC/ST Act for reproducing the poetry of Punajbi poet Babu Rajab Ali.
